Learn to throw on the potter’s wheel. This course will teach you the basics of throwing, beginning with how to centre, open up and pull up the walls of a cylinder, and moving on to how to stretch the clay into bowls and other more complex forms. You will learn to trim your work and in the final week you will be able to glaze your pieces.
Each attendee has their own dedicated potter’s wheel and there will be a maximum of 6 people in each class. Expect to keep anywhere between 6-8 pieces, depending on what happens when you are throwing.
This course is suitable for beginners but all are welcome. It is held on a Wednesday, morning and evening options are available.
The total cost of the course is £250. Tools, materials and firing are all included.
Please bring a small towel and an apron if you have one.
